I’m playing another live session this evening at Unwind. In the past few weeks I’ve also stepped-up my repertoire with more abstract beats, improvised melodies and jazz-ish rhythms. Have a listen to Live Session, 2010-08-04 and Live Session, 2010-08-05.

I will be playing another live session at Unwind tomorrow evening. At the moment, I don’t intend to record these sessions, so they will need to be experienced in-the-moment. I have posted a recent session I made at home in preparation for the first event.

I’ve taken a different approach to writing new material as of late, shifting from individual tracks to extended live sessions. Recent recordings Live practice session, 2010-06-13, Bit Flip v.01, and Midnight Run v.01 are examples of this more free flowing and improvisational style. With that, I’m excited to announce I’ll be playing semi-regular live sets this summer at Unwind, on the patio at CS3. No new podcast mixes for the foreseeable future, as I am working on new compositions. I posted two new works in progress, Clickr v.01 and Midnight Run v.01, on my SoundCloud page. The from-the-vaults albums on Bandcamp are now name-your-price, so download a newly remastered old favorite, whydontcha? I’m in-between books right now, having finished China Miéville‘s noir fantasy thriller The City and the City, which I recommend.

From-the-vaults-podcast: Arrivals mix

My next from-the-vaults podcast is a mix of seven tracks from Arrivals (38min, 59.3 MB MP3), a previously unreleased follow-up to 2009′s Departure Lounge. Many of these tracks had appeared in various podcast mixes and live sets and were remastered with the intent of releasing a second EP in 2009. Instead, I decided to shelve them and go in a new direction, which lead to the material for Elsewhere and Vernal. So, here they are in a spankin’ new mix.
