I have enjoyed playing tennis the last few evenings after work. My job is so sedentary, I forget how much I like physical activity. Plus, there’s nothin’ like some good sweatin’ from cardio activity to counteract the sweatin’ from heat and humidity.

I was, like, all ready to enjoy Domino Magazine, but so far the trial issue I received misses the mark for me. I thought it’d be more gender-neutral, design-boutique-oriented, D.I.Y. and thrifty, but it’s way too girly (how to turn an outfit into a room, for example), trendy, glamour-and-status-oriented and expensive. Lucky, Cargo and now Domino; magalogs, indeed.

This morning, I had to stop to avoid hitting a Canadian goose crossing the road — a common occurrence where two man-made lakes straddle the busy highway on the way to work. I looked in my rear view mirror to make sure any car behind me saw what was going on. A woman in a PT Cruiser held a phone to her ear with one hand but took the other off the steering wheel long enough to raise it to me. She would have hit the goose has she tried to pass me on the shoulder. After the bird made it to the other lane, I started to proceed. When I saw her angry gestures, I stopped suddenly again to piss her off some more and raised my hands mockingly to her. In her obliviousness, she probably never even saw the pedestrian goose. I avoid killing a large bird crossing a busy highway and get grief from a hurried empty-nester bitch. I think if I had a brick anywhere near me I would have jumped out of my car and thrown it through her window. Sometimes, I understand road rage.
