I have started a repository for clippings that I find interesting, inspiring or whatever. Check it out.

2010: A New Hope

A new year brings a bounty of hope—for new attitudes, new projects, new directions. In the past year, my intentions were to play more live shows and focus on finishing select tracks to my satisfaction. Mission accomplished.
Rather than make predictions or resolutions, here are some of the things on my plate and/or on the horizon [...]

Processing: sketch_rand_cubes_2009_01

Here is a recent sketch in Processing, my take on cubism and a variation on another sketch from almost two years ago: View sketch_rand_cubes_2009_01

Processing: sketch_2009_09_02_squares

Here is another recent sketch in Processing, a variation on a sketch from two years ago. View sketch_2009_09_02_squares

Processing: sketch_june09_comp_Screen1

Here is another recent sketch in Processing. This screen version is the basis for a short run print and painting series I’m working on.  View sketch_june09_comp_Screen1.

Processing: sketch_april28_comp_Screen1

Here’s another recent sketch in Processing. This one has decidedly more visual complexity, with additional shapes and some white hatch lines for erosion. FWIW, I think it looks better at 1280×960 resolution. View sketch_april28_comp_Screen1.

Processing: sketch_march23_comp_Screen

I have been creating some new sketches in Processing. This sketch combines basic lines, bezier curves and triangles in a number of different ways. It’s still procedural code (running in a linear loop, as oppossed to object oriented, which I haven’t had time to explore), so I slowed down the frameRate() [...]

Processing: sketch_2008_04_28_diagonal_lines2

I had some time recently to mess about in Processing. For your consideration: sketch_2008_04_28_diagonal_lines2. Stare at it for a while and everything starts to make sense.
Update: I posted a few shorts to Vimeo: diagonal_lines2 / diagonal_lines3.

Processing: sketch_2007_12_11a

I’ve always enjoyed these patterns, so I decided to generate them. Someday I’ll be savvy enough to make it interactive. For your consideration: sketch_2007_12_11a

Processing: rand_cubes01b

For your consideration: rand_cubes01b. This uses OpenGL to render, so edges are jagged. Let it go for a while to get some dense layering. Click the mouse to clear the screen and press a key to stop. Also on Vimeo.
