  • generate ideas in moderation: they can be addicting
  • spend energy on staying organized: creativity * organization = impact
  • organize with a bias to action

    • back burner items: must review regularly or you may never do them
    • reference items: pile up, usually don’t get used again

Getting Things Done

desktop organizer systemOne of my goals for 2007 is to get organized. I’ve found that ordering my physical space can help with ordering my mental space. To that end, I recommend this desktop organizer system by Real Simple, available at Target. You can mix and match various components (trays, files, drawers, pen holders) to make your own configuration, and they’re available in several exterior (blue, brown) and interior (cyan, orange, magenta) colors.
